What I found out a few things from my poll, for example I found that the majority of people who completed it where between the age of 16 and 20, which is round about the audience that I am looking to target my magazine at and that most of them where female which is not what I was hoping for as I would like the magazine to target both women and men equally. The most popular types of music that people said they listened to where indie, alternative and rock which is mainly what the magazine is going to be about and the worst type was classical music which would support my magazines ideology. Another one of my poll questions supports the indie/alternative theme of the magazine as most people said that there favourite instruments where guitar drums and bass which is what most of these types of bands are made up of.

The research I did into what people wanted to be included into the college magazine, the result5s showed that people wanted the magazines to included local news and events that are going on in the city, like gigs and concerts that are happening, also they want things about the music scene in hull, because there are a lot of really good bands in hull.

The way I am going to set out my magazine is a bit like the very popular magazine NME for example they have a very generic front cover that they use as you can see below

I didn’t want my magazine to fit into the standard college magazine you see which have the same conventions and mostly are about how the college sport team have done and how they are doing, I wanted something that everyone can enjoy and something that catches the readers eye, normal college magazines are normally set out like this

The ideology behind my magazine is to have a magazine that isn’t boring I want it to be a magazine about college but about other things the students can relate to as well

The main focus of my magazine it going to be on the students of the college, the ones how do thinks like play in bands and play guitar or who create, sing and play their own music and if people have won things
